You can’t quit until you try
You can’t live until you die
You can’t learn to tell the truth
Until you learn to lie
You can’t breathe until you choke
You gotta laugh when you’re the joke
There’s nothing like a funeral to make you feel alive
Just open your eyes
Just open your eyes
And see that life is beautiful
Will you swear on your life
That no one will cry at my funeral?

Tonight's run was fabulous. Cool, with a slight drizzle of rain towards the end. Bittersweet and odd: on the way back, I felt a strange desire to run through the graveyard, and it made me think of running through the cemetary in Alabama with my parents. I'm not sure what choked me up worse, the amazing monuments in the memorial parks or missing them.
I kept my heart rate way too low, and I haven't quite calibrated the footpod on my Polar SD monitor. But the run was great - consistent, enjoyable, and not terribly painful. You can't ask for much more than that. There's nothing like a great run to make you feel alive.
