Putting My Game Face On

All right, everyone has to have a plan for getting back into it. So, if I am to get serious about my idea of doing my first HIM in May, I have to plan for the rest of the season. 6 tidbits of wizdom:

Okay, so you didn't *exactly* ask for advice, but I'm going to get all nosy and give my two cents. But it's only out of love. :)

My thought is... you need more REST!! Six day weeks? I was doing six day weeks when punching it for the IM, but it was seriously hard on my body. Six straight days of running would kill me. And my knees.

I'm a massive proponent of allowing time to heal, especially since running kicks my butt all the time. When I don't allow for rest, things start giving out. Often my knees, sometimes my lower back, and once my upper back, but I blame that one on yelling at the neighbors. Maybe, if you're worried about mileage, double up on one day (4 in the morning and 6 in the evening) so you can recover the next?

So there are my totally unsolicited 2 cents. Ain't blogging FUN ?????

;p

yeah I agree with IM Able.. that's a lot running but you will have to decide and your body will tell you when it needs more rest.
Just make sure to listen!!

Hmm . . . maybe you guys are right, but Friday's workouts are kind of a rest as they're power yoga . . . and I'm only doing 4 runs per week plus a cross-training day or two . . . nonetheless, maybe 3 runs per week plus 2 cross days and 2 rest days is not such a bad idea . . .
