Holy Tuesday, It's Time for an Update

HOLY TUESDAY!

It's time for an update.

It has been a ridiculous week.  RIDICULOUS.

Work is part.  School is part.  And my body is part.

Honestly, I think I have more non-functioning parts than functioning parts.  Parts of me are man-made, and other parts just don't work at all.

The funny thing is, I don't think I'd be busting my ass so hard with my workouts, diet, and career plans without them.  Every time my team of doctors would "discover" something new, I'd take a couple days to be pissed off, grumpy, and feel sorry for myself - and then I would shake it off and get even stronger.

Well, now I gots a shiny brand new one to add to the mix!

HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE!

SQUEEEEE!!!!!

Before you get all excited . . . .  I have definitely not passed the pissed part.

They threw me on the first medicine I've been on (aside from thryoid hormone) in YEAAAAAARS .
And it promptly sent me this place - which is not unlike the place just about everything I've ever been on has sent me (see The Week in Song Lyrics)

Hello hello
(hola)
I'm at a place called vertigo
-U2, Vertigo

Awesome.  So half the workouts this week are trashed.

Not totally a loss though . . .  still got in yoga, a run, a ride, and a bike-openwater swim-bike. And, when all else fails, since I thrive on rest, I . . . well . . . rest.

In other news, you might have remembered how my century made me realize I could push harder on short rides. So, since  I usually always average just under or just at 20, I was hoping that The Murdolator (aka TNT) ride on Thursday would bring me to a new high since it's really a race.

I was wrong.

It brought me to a new low.

They dropped me when the anytime speed hit 26-28 and I busted ass, first alone and then with a small group, just to average 18. I didn't hang on and it was the slowest group ride I've done in ages.

Next week.  (Not tonight . . . I worked 8:30 to 7 today.)

That's 8:30am to 7pm.

More SONG LYRICS OF THE WEEK! WOO!
For some reason, this song always reminds me of my vertigo.  Maybe it's because I'm always trying to get my vertigo, to go-go.

Come on baby, let's not fight
We'll go dancing, everything will be all right
Wake me up before you go go
Don't leave me hanging on like a yo yo
-Wham!, Wake Me Up Before You Go Go

Have a good week!
